How to make reseller customers tax exempt on Shopify for wholesale orders

If your company sells wholesale orders through Shopify, you can either use Shopify's dedicated wholesale features, or you can designate individual customers as tax-exempt. 3. Edit the customer's settings by selecting the pencil icon in the top right of the righthand sidebar and selecting Manage tax exemptions:

  1. Uncheck Collect tax.

  1. Click Save.

Some states require businesses to acquire and keep on file a customer's reseller or wholesale certificate in order to classify revenue as wholesale.
