Zamp Tax for Stripe: Invoices & Addresses

If you're using Zamp Tax for Stripe, you must have addresses available for your invoices.

Remember that sales tax is determined by where the products or services were provided to, so Zamp needs to know where the customer was located. If you don't have address information available, we won't be able to successfully determine how to report a transaction.

Zamp's integration with Stripe works by:

  1. First checking for a customer's "Shipping Address"
  2. If no customer "Shipping Address" is found, we attempt to use the customer's "Billing Address" from the charge itself
  3. If no charge "Billing Address" is found, we will then fall back to using the customer's general address property.

Checking if your Stripe Invoices have address details

It's easy to check if Zamp's integration can work with your invoices.

  1. Login to Stripe and then navigate to Invoices.

  2. Once there, click into a few invoices and verify you see Billing details or Shipping details.

  3. In the event that your invoices are missing addresses, they will be ignored from being imported into Zamp. To correct these issues, you will need to add address details to your customer records and invoices.
