How to fill out and import the Zamp CSV template

This guide walks through populating Zamp's simplified CSV template in Excel or Google Sheets, then uploading it to your account. Five steps, start to finish.

Step 1: Get the template.

Download the simplified CSV template, or find it under Platforms and integrations → Spreadsheets and CSVs in the Help Center.

Tip: when you open the file, select all cells and widen the columns. Headers and data are much easier to read while you work.

Step 2: Review the template structure.

Each row represents one transaction, read left to right. For example, a row might represent:

• transactionId: 1234

• No marketplace, not a wholesale sale

• Subtotal $10.00, discount $2.00

• Shipping and handling $5.25, tax $1.00

• Total $16.25

• Date: 10/21/2024

• Shipped to an address in Austin, TX

Required fields.

Every row needs all nine of these. A file missing any of them will not import.

Optional fields.

Leave any of these blank and the import still works. Filling them in sharpens the result.

Ship-to address requirements.

  • U.S. transactions: The minimum is the ZIP code on its own, or the city and state together.

  • Non-U.S. transactions: The minimum is the city and the country, using a 2- or 3-character ISO country code.

Step 3: Copy your data over, column by column.

For each column, copy your source data, then use Paste Special → Values when pasting into the template. That strips any hidden formulas from your source file, so only the raw numbers and text carry over.

Working with a large dataset? Select the whole column, then hold Cmd on a Mac or Ctrl on Windows and click the header cell to deselect it. You copy the data without the header row.

Step 4: Save and convert to CSV.

• Once every column is filled in, save the file

• Convert it to CSV format

• Name it with identifying detail, such as CompanyName_FilingPeriod.csv

Step 5: Upload your file in Zamp.

• Log in to your Zamp account and go to the Integrations tab

• Find the CSV connection, marked with the green CSV icon

• Click Upload transactions, then Upload transactions again

• Drag and drop your file, or select it from your file manager

That's it — we'll take it from there. Once your file is in, we process the transactions and they'll appear in your Zamp dashboard.
